Bangkok: Police know almost all of the members of the drug network supplying the flight attendant. The main ringleader is located in Laos. "Ekawit," who used the bank account name "Rin Rin," was arrested for delivering a bag containing drugs to "Uthai," who then distributed them to a flight attendant. Police revealed they know almost all the members of this network, and that the main ringleader is located in Laos.
According to Thai News Agency, Police Lieutenant Colonel Suriya Singhakamol, Secretary-General of the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB), invited the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) and Australian police to a meeting to follow up on the progress of a transnational drug trafficking case linked to a flight attendant smuggling heroin into Australia. The Secretary-General highlighted the necessity of disrupting drug-related activities from their origin through to their final destination, including smuggling drugs abroad. Companies or individuals involved in transporting goods, whether knowingly or unknowingly, will face maximum penalties for evading customs duties.
The ONCB does not yet consider "Rose Rose" the mastermind of the operation, with investigations pointing to a Laotian figure as the potential ringleader, though their role as a producer remains unconfirmed. In a recent development, Mr. Ekawit was arrested in Phayao province. Pol. Maj. Gen. Teeradet Thamsuthee confirmed that Ekawit used the chat name 'Rin Rin' to coordinate with Mr. Uthai, delivering an elephant-patterned bag containing heroin. Ekawit admitted to receiving 100,000 baht for his role and confessed to purchasing the bags from Chiang Mai province multiple times.
Police clarified that Ekawit is not the person who used the chat name 'Rose Rose' to contact Airmina, who was hired to transport the elephant-patterned suitcase to Australia. Investigative leads suggest Ekawit is linked to 'Rose Rose', who instructed him to procure the bags, which were then strategically placed for collection. Though Ekawit claimed the heroin was packed in Laos, police remain skeptical, suspecting local production capabilities in Phayao Province. After the packaging, 'Rose Rose' would arrange for Ekawit to retrieve the bags and cash from the designated locations.
Further investigation revealed that 'Rose Rose' orchestrated the operation by directing Ekawit and others involved in the logistics of the drug transport. Despite using an avatar page, the Narcotics Suppression Police possess complete information on 'Rose Rose', yet she is not deemed the top leader, as higher-ranking figures are involved in the operation.
