Bangkok: The Prime Minister declined to comment on whether he signed an order to investigate five civil servants for serious disciplinary violations linked to exam cheating. The Prime Minister was also reticent about poll results showing a drop in his popularity, stating he was in a hurry to meet with an ambassador.
According to Thai News Agency, after explaining the draft budget transfer bill to the Senate, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul made his way to his vehicle. Reporters attempted to question him about the disciplinary investigation into five local administration officials involved in exam fraud. They specifically inquired whether the report had been approved by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior. The Prime Minister responded only with a smile and refrained from providing an answer.
When the reporters shifted their focus to the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) poll, which showed a decline in the Prime Minister's popularity, Mr. Anutin rolled down the window of his personal car. He briefly mentioned his obligation to meet with ambassadors at Government House. Despite further pressing on whether he had signed the investigation order, the Prime Minister maintained his silence, closed the car window, and promptly departed from the Parliament building.
