Bangkok: The Prime Minister visited Alibaba Group to leverage digital knowledge and innovation to further develop the digital economy. Today at 2:00 PM Beijing local time, which is one hour ahead of Thailand time, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul and his delegation visited the Alibaba Group headquarters. The visit aimed to study innovation and digital technology, and to further cooperation in investment and the development of the capabilities of Thai entrepreneurs, with the goal of upgrading the digital economy and creating new opportunities for the people. Mr. Fan Luyuan, President and CEO of the Digital Media and Entertainment Business Group, welcomed them.
According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister commended Alibaba's role as a leading global technology company that has developed a comprehensive digital ecosystem. Currently, Alibaba has businesses in Thailand in cloud computing, e-commerce, and logistics, and has received investment promotion from the BOI for digital infrastructure and distribution centers. The Prime Minister emphasized Thailand's potential to become a regional business hub. The government prioritizes investment in Thailand in AI, cloud computing, and logistics, aligning with Alibaba's business. Furthermore, the Prime Minister expressed a desire to see collaboration through platforms that promote Thai tourism, as well as the development of digital skills to drive the digital economy and elevate Thailand's position as a strategic gateway to ASEAN.
