Punishment is being issued for the owner of the sightseeing bus that caught fire after the Department of Land Transport made an appointment for the operator to bring all the remaining vehicles in for inspection, but the operator did not show up as scheduled. Progress in the case of the school bus that caught fire after the Department of Land Transport made an appointment with the owner of the vehicle involved in the accident to bring all the remaining vehicles in for inspection. Initial information shows that the company had 6 vehicles, with 1 involved in the fire, leaving 5 vehicles that need to be inspected thoroughly. The appointment was for inspection before 2:00 PM today, but it appears that the operator did not show up as scheduled. When tracking the GPS attached to all 5 vehicles, it was found that the vehicles had been taken in for modifications to the equipment inside the vehicles. It is believed that this may have been due to the fact that each vehicle had an over-specified gas tank. Currently, M r. Chirut Wisanjit, Director-General of the Department of Land Transport, is reporting to Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, to acknowledge the strict measures and there will be a press conference about the punishment after 3:00 p.m. today.
