This led to the adoption of waste management practices at Rai Thong Somboon, starting with household-level initiatives such as using food scraps for fertilizer. The club also shares its sustainability knowledge with employees, aiming to make Pak Chong a model of sustainable tourism akin to New Zealand.
In its pursuit of reducing carbon emissions, Rai Thong Somboon Club has embraced green innovations. A 320 kW solar rooftop installation powers high-energy activities, easing electricity costs. The club has also partnered with PAC to implement a waste heat recovery system that converts air conditioner waste heat into energy for various uses, minimizing reliance on commercial energy. Moreover, by producing its own hot water and purified drinking water, the club reduces its carbon footprint from transportation and minimizes plastic waste.
Furthering its commitment to sustainability, Rai Thong Somboon has advanced waste management and community engagement initiatives. The club converts single-use plastics into oil for use on the farm and donates some to a local temple.
