Rayong: Welcome the rainy season with the return of "Spiderweb Wonders," a miraculous tiny plant of the rainforest in Khao Chamao-Khao Wong National Park. Anyone visiting the Khlong Pla Kaeng area these days should take a good look at the forest floor, because nature is revealing the wonder of "Spiderweb Wonders," a rare, tiny plant that looks like a spider with its legs spread, which has now emerged to greet tourists and provide beautiful photo opportunities.
According to Thai News Agency, the "Mysterious Spider," scientifically known as Thismia arachnites Ridl. (family Burmanniaceae), is a "sacrificing plant" that lacks chlorophyll and survives by absorbing nutrients from the decomposition of dead plants and animals in the soil. It is considered a relatively rare plant group. This flower is only available for viewing during this time of year. It blooms exclusively from the beginning to mid-rainy season (May - August) and usually prefers to hide among damp, decaying leaves in rainforests at altitudes of 50-250 meters above sea level.
Visitors are advised to take important precautions when visiting the area. Due to the tiny and fragile nature of these plants, it is crucial to conserve the environment by not stepping on the growing area, avoiding touching or playing with the plant, and refraining from picking or taking anything. Visitors are encouraged to let the "mysterious spider" grow and continue to be a beautiful part of the natural forest.
The location for viewing these unique plants is the Khlong Pla Kang area in Khao Chamao-Khao Wong National Park, Rayong Province.
