Buriram: Rescuers performed CPR to save a mother dog and her puppies that were strangled with a rope. A heartwarming story unfolded at Khlong Thom Market in Nang Rong, along Highway 24 (Chokchai-Det Udom), Nang Rong District, Buriram Province. A kind citizen found a stray mother dog and her puppies with a rope around their necks, barely breathing. They immediately contacted rescue services, and volunteers and conscripted soldiers performed CPR, successfully reviving the dog and saving its life.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Samphran, a good Samaritan who reported the incident, said that while selling goods near the Nang Rong Bus Terminal intersection, he saw a dog with a rope tightly around its neck, barely breathing. He tried to chase the dog away to help remove the rope, but the dog became frightened and bit those who tried to help. He then quickly notified rescue services. When volunteers from the Buriram Highway Police arrived, they cut the rope from the dog's neck but found that it had stopped breathing. The volunteers decided to perform CPR for 5 minutes until the dog started breathing again, much to the relief of those present.
Mr. Pongphat, 20 years old, a conscript soldier from the 1/2569 batch, stationed at the 4th Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, Buriram Province, who also works as a volunteer highway police rescuer in Buriram, recounted that he had just received permission to return home for his first day off. On his first day back, he received a call to assist a dog. Upon arrival, the dog was not breathing. He used his life-saving knowledge, acquired during his training, to perform CPR on the dog for the first time. He was overjoyed that he saved its life, especially when he learned it was a stray mother with puppies. He felt that his rescue not only saved one life but also the lives of the unborn puppies. Every life is valuable, whether human or animal.
