Mae sot: The "Rajamanu Task Force" successfully apprehended 33 Myanmar nationals who attempted to cross the border into Thailand illegally at Mae Sot. The operation also led to the seizure of an unidentified pickup truck, which is currently under investigation as authorities strive to identify its owner.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred last night when the Rajamanu Task Force, specifically the Mobile Rapid Response Platoon of the Naresuan Force, conducted a patrol in the area of Moo 6, Ban Don Chai, Mae Tao Subdistrict, Mae Sot District, Tak Province. The task force, upon noticing suspicious activity, approached the individuals for further investigation.
The investigation revealed a group of 33 Myanmar nationals, comprising 14 men, 17 women, and 2 accompanying children. Alongside the group, authorities discovered a suspicious vehicle with luggage in its truck bed at the site.
During initial questioning, all individuals admitted to crossing into Thailand through unauthorized border routes, confirming their status as foreign nationals without legal entry permissions. As a result, the authorities detained the group and transferred them to Mae Sot Police Station for further legal actions.
The vehicle in question, a white four-door Toyota Vigo pickup truck bearing the license plate KT 8107, contained a significant amount of luggage. Investigators found no claim of ownership over the vehicle. Consequently, the Rajamanu Task Force, in collaboration with Mae Sot Police Station, seized the vehicle to conduct further investigations aimed at identifying those responsible.
