Bangkok: King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) have unveiled a new prototype train, dubbed the "Thai-Made Train," to the State Railway of Thailand (SRT). This train has been completely designed and built by Thai engineers and marks a significant milestone in the country's engineering and technological capabilities. The train made its inaugural journey recently, showcasing its potential for enhancing domestic travel.
According to Thai News Agency, the SRT has plans to make this train available for rent, specifically targeting the tourism sector. Tourists will be able to travel across Thailand on this train, with rental prices starting at 32,000 baht. This initiative is expected to stimulate the local tourism industry by providing a unique travel experience, while also highlighting the engineering prowess of Thai professionals.
