Today, a dream for the entire nation has come true as the Thai women's national volleyball team achieved a remarkable feat at the AVC Women's Volleyball Continental Championship 2026 in Tianjin, China. Their victories included a 3-0 win against South Korea in the quarterfinals, a 3-1 win against Japan in the semifinals, and a 3-2 victory over the host nation China, securing their fourth championship title. This achievement also marks a historic first for Thai volleyball, securing qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games, ending a long 60-year wait.
According to Thai News Agency, on this occasion, Ms. Thantip Sirinupong and Mr. Surapol Utinthu, executives of Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, along with Mr. Patrick Horattanachai, Director of External Affairs, and Mr. Suborn Denpaisarn, Senior Executive Vice President, Non-Alcoholic Beverage Business, Thailand, traveled to congratulate the Volleyball Association of Thailand. They were welcomed by Mr. Somporn Chaibangyang, President of the Volleyball Association of Thailand, "Coach Odd" Kiatipong Ratchatagriangrai, Head Coach, and the Thai women's national volleyball team, on the occasion of this historic achievement at Suvarnabhumi International Airport on August 31, 2026.
