Berlin: Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Thailand, disclosed the outcomes of the 6th Ministerial Conference on Peacekeeping Operations under the United Nations Framework held in Berlin, Germany, marking the 80th anniversary of the UN's establishment. The meeting, which took place on 13-14 May 2025, saw high-level leaders and defense ministers from various countries gather to discuss and establish a framework for future peace efforts. The participants demonstrated a collective willingness to support peace initiatives, with Thailand pledging its commitment to assist in all aspects, including bomb disposal, leveraging its extensive experience in that area.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phumtham emphasized that the conference offered a valuable opportunity to engage with defense ministers from numerous countries. Notably, he held discussions with representatives from the newly formed German government, despite no change in the position of the defense minister. The talks covered a broad range of topics, reinforcing the collaborative spirit and shared objectives for fostering global peace. Thailand's readiness to organize training and cooperate with all sectors was underscored as part of its contributions to the peacekeeping efforts.
