Bangkok: The 2026 Science Fair begins today, more advanced than ever before, bringing AI innovations and future technologies for Thai children to experience firsthand. Lieutenant Colonel Patthadarasmi Thongsalooykorn, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced the readiness of the "National Science and Technology Fair 2026" at Halls 9-11, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani. The event is held under the theme "Intelligence in Science for a Sustainable Future," featuring world-class innovations from 96 organizations across 8 countries. The fair, which runs until August 23, 2026, allows Thai citizens and youth an opportunity to engage with future technologies directly.
According to Thai News Agency, the Deputy Spokesperson emphasized that this year's Science Fair is a departure from traditional theoretical learning, focusing instead on interactive experiences. The event supports the government's "AI for All" policy, showcasing how artificial intelligence and science can address everyday challenges in areas such as the environment, health, and the digital economy.
The fair highlights several key activities, including the 'CE-7MATCH', a Thai-engineered scientific device set for a lunar exploration mission this August. Other attractions include the AI Revolution: The New Human Edge exhibition, exploring AI's potential in the modern era, and the Rare Earth: The Invisible Power exhibition, which uncovers the role of rare earth minerals in powering future technology like smartphones and electric vehicles.
Participants will also discover innovations aimed at sustainability, including "Food of the Future," which explores new eating trends, and exhibitions like "Over The Bloom" and "The Hidden World of Rangelands," addressing biodiversity, environmental, and food security issues.
Captain Patthadarasmi noted that the fair is extending its reach with regional events at Maejo University in Chiang Mai and Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University from August 18-20, 2026. She encourages parents, youth, and the public to attend and be inspired about the future, offering free admission to all.
