Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul has given Supachai the green light to retaliate against the Orange Party senators by filing a complaint with the Election Commission if their actions are deemed to violate the law. Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, in his capacity as leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, commented on the call by MP Supachai Jaisamut, acting as the party's legal counsel, to investigate whether the Election Commission (EC) investigated the Senate members from the "People's Group" who held a banquet, potentially constituting collusion in the Senate election. When asked if he agreed with this approach, Mr. Anutin stated that it was Mr. Supachai performing his duty as the party's legal advisor.
According to Thai News Agency, when pressed further on whether he would give the green light for action if he saw any loopholes indicating illegal activity, Mr. Anutin stated that it was Mr. Supachai's duty to ensure justice prevails. He explained that if legal cases arise, the party he oversees, and the status of its members, must be protected. Therefore, he must clarify the truth to the public. He emphasized that the government is transparent, and that reporters have even told him he has spoken too much.
"The turning point of this story lies in the money trail, isn't it? If ultimately it can't be linked to the politicians and the nine Bhumjaithai Party ministers who are accused, then they might not be guilty, right?" Mr. Anutin said, "The case is already in process. Especially since I'm also accused of being involved in the case, therefore, reporters shouldn't ask me about it because speaking out might jeopardize the case and be pointless. Everything is in the process, regardless of which judicial organization is handling it. Everything is moving forward. We only respect the law. There's no need to falsely accuse anyone."
