Meanwhile, the Prime Minister revealed that the Minister of Defence has flown to Malaysia to strengthen cooperation and promote peace in the southern border region.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul commented on the visit of Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen to Malaysia for bilateral discussions with Dato' Seri Mohammad Khaled Nordin, the Malaysian Minister of Defence, to strengthen cooperation in security and defense, and to follow up on the progress of cooperation between the two countries. He stated that it is necessary to urgently seek peace, tranquility, and stability in the border areas of both countries. Given the long-standing diplomatic relations between Malaysia and Thailand, discussions should be arranged immediately whenever possible to avoid the escalation of conflict.
Regarding the indefinite postponement of the peace talks in the southern border provinces with the BRN group, originally scheduled for September 2026, the Prime Minister requested that details be sought from the Minister of Defense, as it is a sensitive matter and the responsible party should provide the answers.

The purpose was to gather information, expand the investigation, and verify any connections to the attack on the Bukeh Sami checkpoint. Those detained were granted all their legal rights, and being questioned does not presume they are guilty. If no evidence linking them to the crime is found, authorities will proceed according to standard procedures.
