Brussels: Divock Origi, former Liverpool and AC Milan striker, has officially announced his retirement from football at the age of 31. He has been without a club since his contract with Milan expired last December. Origi stated that he has achieved all his goals in football and plans to pursue other interests including fashion, business, and charitable work.
According to Thai News Agency, Origi has made 358 club appearances, scoring 67 goals for Lille, Liverpool, Wolfsburg, AC Milan, and Nottingham Forest. He scored a crucial goal in Liverpool's victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the 2018-2019 UEFA Champions League final and was part of the team that won the Premier League in the 2019-2020 season. He has also earned 32 caps for the Belgian national team, scoring 3 goals.
