Bangkok: A 27-year-old woman issued a warning after encountering a suspicious man who was secretly taking photos under her skirt in a shopping mall in the Bang Khae area. CCTV footage clearly captured his behavior. The suspect claimed to be playing Pok©mon Go and is a doctor, but there is still insufficient evidence to press charges.
According to Thai News Agency, the woman posted a video and warning message on Facebook after claiming a middle-aged man secretly filmed under her skirt inside The Mall Bang Khae in Bangkok. She recounted noticing the man acting suspiciously, following her constantly, and appearing to use his mobile phone to look under her skirt. Despite her attempts to walk away, he persisted.
The victim described moving away from the area and changing locations several times, only to find the man continued to follow her. Seeking refuge, she entered a clinic in the mall and requested assistance from staff. Mall officials contacted the stores where the incident occurred to review CCTV footage.
CCTV footage revealed a suspicious man sitting and placing his mobile phone under a shelf, aligning with the victim's description. Store staff determined this behavior matched the victim's report and invited the man for questioning.
Upon examining the man's mobile phone, no related videos or photos were discovered. The victim and authorities suspect the man may have deleted the data before being summoned for questioning.
During the conversation, the man apologized and denied taking pictures under the woman's skirt, claiming he was playing Pok©mon Go on his mobile phone at the time and had no intention of recording images or videos. He also stated he was a doctor.
The victim has not filed a police report or recorded the incident due to the lack of evidence from the man's mobile phone. She chose to share the incident on social media to warn the public, particularly women, to exercise caution. She urged anyone witnessing suspicious behavior to report it to mall staff or police to enable investigation and prevent similar occurrences.
