Bangkok:The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to "Nene" for her presence as a special guest at the welcoming dinner for world leaders attending the IMF-World Bank meeting.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul spoke about inviting 16-year-old Thai rock artist "Nene Royal" (Praew-Rattikarn Amlai) to the reception for over 400 VVIP guests and global leaders at the 2026 World Bank Group Annual Meetings hosted by Thailand. Nene recently gained international recognition by winning America's Got Talent Season 21.
Anutin praised Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ekniti Nitithanprapas and thanked Nene for her participation, highlighting her role in showcasing the talent of Thai youth, enhancing the country's reputation, and serving as a soft power tool to inspire young people. He emphasized using special talents to bring fame to Thailand and expressed gratitude to Nene and her father for their efforts.
When questioned about his musical skills, Anutin humorously acknowledged they were not on par with Nene's, revealing his own nickname, "Nunu," which he described as "too cute." He reiterated his admiration for Nene's talent and shared that he has always supported her, even during his time in America.
Regarding the conference's hospitality, Anutin mentioned the emphasis on Thai food and culture, with a Thai pavilion set up at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The event will host heads of state and national leaders, many of whom hold multiple positions, similar to their roles in Thailand.
