Bangkok: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sihasak held discussions with the Myanmar Foreign Minister, emphasizing close neighborly relations and continuing cooperation on border security, the environment, and the economy. They also exchanged views on ASEAN issues and the Myanmar peace process.
According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Sihasak Phuangketkaew, met with Myanmar's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tin Maung Swe, during Myanmar's visit to Thailand to attend the Informal Meeting of ASEAN Foreign Ministers. Both sides affirmed their close and long-standing relationship as neighboring countries and discussed cooperation in border security, environmental issues particularly river pollution, and economic cooperation to promote border trade and economic connectivity between the two countries.
Both sides also exchanged views on interactions between ASEAN and Myanmar, including developments in the peace and reconciliation process in Myanmar.
