Bangkok: "Siripong" visited those injured in the Route 514 bus accident, emphasizing that BMTA (Bangkok Mass Transit Authority) is providing full care and compensation, and stressing the need for the highest level of safety measures.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Siriphong Angkasakulkiat, Deputy Minister of Transport, along with Mr. Kittikan Chomduang Charuwarapolkul, Director of the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority, visited those injured in the accident involving air-conditioned bus number 514 (1-54), vehicle number 2-70172, heading towards Lumpini Park along Lat Phrao Road. The bus experienced a malfunction with the accelerator pedal near Soi Lat Phrao 112, causing it to lose control and collide with a tree. Ten people were injured in the accident. The injured were at Lat Phrao Hospital and Phetchavet Hospital.
The Deputy Minister of Transport spoke with the injured and their relatives, expressing concern and assuring them that the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) would fully cover all medical expenses and compensation until the injured fully recover.
Furthermore, the BMTA has been instructed to strictly enforce inspection measures for the readiness of all buses and all bus depots before they are put into service, in order to ensure the safety of the public.
