Chanthaburi: Ignoring Cambodian concerns about Chinese weapons, Thailand remains steadfast in its readiness to respond to any threats. The Thai-Cambodian Information Center announced that regardless of China's involvement in the region, Thailand is prepared to act decisively.
According to Thai News Agency, Air Chief Marshal Praphas Sonjaidee, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Air Force and Director of the Thai-Cambodian Situation Information Center, recently visited the Chanthaburi-Trat Border Patrol Force. During his visit to Ban Tha Sen and Ban Nong Ri, he provided morale-boosting supplies to the officers and assessed the situation.
The delegation, including prominent figures such as Commander Natthanai Chanpleng, Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Defence, and Colonel Richa Suksuwanon, Deputy Spokesperson of the Royal Thai Army, was greeted by local officials. The visit also highlighted the importance of infrastructure development, with Air Chief Marshal Praphas expressing gratitude to locals for road construction efforts, despite the absence of a formal budget. He urged relevant authorities to expedite road projects to improve public safety in the mountainous region.
In response to China's claim of prohibiting Cambodia from using Chinese-supplied weapons along the Thai-Cambodian border, Air Chief Marshal Praphas assured that Thailand is prepared to address any threats. He emphasized the readiness of the Thai army to protect its borders, noting the complexities of regional diplomacy. Rear Admiral Udom Kulsiripanyo, Chief of Staff of the Chanthaburi and Trat Border Defense Command, reiterated the commitment to safeguarding sovereignty in accordance with existing agreements until the Thai-Cambodian Joint Border Commission convenes to clarify territorial boundaries.
