Bangkok: The People's Party recently convened a seminar aimed at reinforcing its strategy and addressing the current political landscape. The event, held at the Maple Hotel in Bangna, brought together Members of Parliament (MPs) and party members to discuss pressing issues, work processes, and the future direction of the party.
According to Thai News Agency, the seminar featured a keynote address by Mr. Pita Limjaroenrat, the former leader of the Move Forward Party. Pita, who recently returned from the United States, shared his experiences and insights gained from interactions with politicians and youth across various countries. Highlighting the international recognition of the People's Party as a model for modern political organizations, he noted the interest expressed by young people in nations such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines for a similar political entity in their own countries.
Pita emphasized the importance of perseverance amidst political challenges, urging party members to focus on the party's achievements and remain confident. He stressed the need for the People's Party to prepare for emerging political opportunities and to think ahead of the government. Furthermore, Pita outlined the global challenges facing the party, including geopolitical tensions, domestic political decline, and the impact of climate change, urging MPs to prepare policy proposals proactively.
Mr. Veerayut Kanchuchat, Deputy Leader of the People's Party, also addressed the seminar, focusing on the evolution of Thai politics and the role of the People's Party in the coming decade. He reviewed the historical shifts in political power and the emergence of new political forces challenging traditional power structures. Veerayut discussed the complexities of the current power dynamics, emphasizing the need for the People's Party to not only critique the opposition but also to demonstrate its capability as a viable alternative for governance.
