Pong talong: Local authorities and villagers in Pong Talong herded the wild buffalo back into the forest. A herd of wild buffalo was spotted foraging along the roadside in Ban Pong Talong, Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, prompting authorities to guide them back into the forest due to safety concerns for local residents.
According to Thai News Agency, the collaborative effort involved local officials and villagers from Ban Pong Talong, who worked diligently to herd and push the wild buffaloes back into their natural habitat. This action came in response to reports of a large herd leaving the forest for the roadside, causing panic as some animals ran in front of passing vehicles, increasing the risk of accidents.
Community leaders, volunteers, and villagers conducted inspections and found approximately 100 wild buffalo foraging along the roadside. Their collective efforts ensured the herd was safely guided back into the forest, minimizing potential threats to both the animals and road users.
The public and those traveling through the Ban Pong Talong area, particularly at night, are advised to exercise caution. Drivers are encouraged to reduce their speed and avoid actions such as honking or scaring the animals, to prevent any dangerous encounters.
